Bouldering at Lover’s Leap near Lake Tahoe. This area is more known for its rope climbing. However, while approaching the infamous “Lover’s Leap” you will come across these boulders… so we could not help ourselves and needed to jump on them before climbing moderate classics like “Bear’s Reach, 5.7” or “The Line, 5.9”.

Awesome day with Kat! She came all the way from Colorado to visit her brother. What a great opportunity to check out our local climbing here in sunny San Diego. It is clearly not Kat’s first time on the rock! As she knew how to tie in and belay we moved fast! We climbed 7 routes – most of them in multi-pitch style where I belayed her from the top. Up there I taught her how to rig her own rappel with a safety back-up. There is a huge benefit to being up at the anchor with your guide! You can see all set-ups in action and receive hands-on instruction.I am grateful for every day that I am out teaching. Thanks Kat for being part of this. Can’t wait for more adventures!

Bri much focused on a sunny and crisp day at El Cajon Mountain. This is the last 5.10a pitch of the “center direct route” 400 feet above the ground. Always great to hike out there, feel so remote but be so close to the city.
